Hello Gladiators! I hope each of you have had a GREAT summer! It is now time to get back to Gladiator Nation!! STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT COMPLETED REGISTRATION AND PICKED UP THEIR SCHEDULE - We will not be completing the registration process or handing out schedules during the meet the teacher/walk the schedule time periods. Any student who has not already completed their registration and gotten their schedule will have to wait until the first day of school to get their schedule. No student will receive a schedule without registration being complete. Students who have completed the registration process but are waiting for a schedule change WILL BE ABLE to pick up their new schedule the evening of Meet the Teacher/Walk the schedule. 2023-2024 Student Drug Testing Monday, July 31, 2023 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Italy High School Cafetorium Once again this school year,  Italy ISD is offering annual student drug testing as part of our comprehensive drug-testing program. Drug and alcohol abuse negatively affect a student’s safety, personal life, health, and academic performance. With parental consent, students in grades 7-12 who plan to participate in any school-sponsored extracurricular activities, as well as student drivers, are encouraged to participate. This program will consist of an initial annual drug test as well as random testing throughout the school year.  The Italy ISD School Board approved Drug Testing Guidelines and consent form can be found at this link:https://5il.co/20k6t All students planning to participate in ANY school-sponsored extracurricular activities, as well as student drivers, are encouraged to complete their drug testing on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM in the Italy High School Cafetorium.  Before a student enrolled in 7th-12th grade may participate in any school-sponsored extracurricular activities, receive a District parking permit, or drive on campus, both the student and the parent/guardian shall agree in writing that the student shall submit to the initial annual drug test and subsequent random tests in accordance with the attached guidelines.  Extracurricular activities include, but are not limited to Athletics, Band, Cheerleading, FFA, Civil Air Patrol, National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, UIL One Act Play, and UIL academic competitions.

ITALY ISD SCHEDULE PICK UP AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION Need to Knows About Schedule Pick-Up What do you do FIRST? Complete the online registration process and upload any requested documents - this MUST be completed before any schedule will be given to a student Items needing to uploaded: Proof of Residency - water bill, electric bill, rental agreement, or contract on a house Photo ID of the person registering the student - can be uploaded while completing online registration. We can make a copy of this if unable to upload. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION!!! Make certain that your student is up to date on immunization requirements - ALL 7th Grade students have required vaccinations. Anyone new to the district must provide a complete immunization record. If your student has medical concerns, please begin the paperwork process with your physician now so you can bring the necessary paperwork needed to have medications on campus. This is especially true for students who may have asthma, seizures, severe allergies, and diabetes. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION!!!! Student Drivers will need…. 23-24 Parking permit $20 for permit Copy of student’s driver’s license Copy of insurance that has your student’s name on it YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION!!!! Student chromebook receipt…..must pay fee to pick up chromebook $15.00 if you qualify for free lunch - there is a $5.00 discount per student siblings. $25.00 if you qualify for reduced lunch - there is a $5.00 discount per student siblings. $30.00 if you pay regular amount for lunch - there is a $5.00 discount per student siblings. *****Please complete the Free and Reduced Lunch form online to see what your student is eligible for. There will be NO guarantee of schedule change before the first day of school. Chromebooks can also be picked up on the first day of school, and the first week of school, by the student. They would still need to bring their chromebook fees, cash or check will be accepted at the school, fees must be paid before receiving a chromebook.

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Waxahachie, serving Ellis County, is in discussion with Italy ISD to apply to provide a low cost option for After School Care for Italy ISD beginning at the start of the 2023-2024 school year. The Italy ISD internet and phone system is back up and working for both campuses. Thank you for your patience as repairs were being made.

The storms that came through Italy on Saturday night have caused IT server damage to both our campuses. How long it will take to rebuild the damaged IT server is not known at this time. Both campuses will be without phones and internet until the server is repaired. No timeline on completing that repair is known at this time. The district has an emergency cell phone number 214-903-2825 that can be used for calls into the district but we are asking you only call this number if it is absolutely necessary. We will only be able to take messages and deliver them as soon as we are able. We appreciate your patience as we work through this issue. Campus-specific procedures will be provided to staff by the principals on both campuses.
