Those wishing to eat dinner can purchase tickets at the reception desk at the high school for $10 each (checks should be made out to Italy ISD). High school student-athletes will eat free. Any other students, up to and including 8th grade, that attend and wish to eat will need to purchase a ticket. There will be a limited number of tickets available for purchase at the door, so please buy them ahead. You do not have to have a ticket to attend the awards, but you must have a ticket to eat dinner at the event. Inclement Weather Notice Early release on February 23. No school on February 24. Dear Italy ISD Families, Out of an abundance of caution, we will be releasing students early today before substantial precipitation is expected to begin. We will release Stafford students at 2:30 p.m. and JH/HS students at 2:40 p.m. All after-school activities for today are cancelled. Given the forecasts for precipitation and freezing temperatures overnight, we have also made the decision to cancel school tomorrow, Thursday, February 24. Please contact your child’s campus if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your flexibility as we work to keep all students, families, and staff members safe. We will continue to monitor weather conditions and will announce a decision about any potential delays or closures on Friday as soon as we are able to do so. ITALY ISD
After school activities We are monitoring the weather and road conditions closely. At this time we are cancelling all afterschool activities for this afternoon.
The Italy ISD School Board is planning to take action on a Proposed 2022-2023 School Calendar at the March board meeting. There are 2 draft calendars for you to review (DRAFT A and DRAFT B). Your comments and suggestions about the draft calendars will be taken into consideration by the district site-based committee. The committee will then draft a final version to recommend for approval by the Italy ISD School Board. The final version may or may not look exactly like the drafts depending on the feedback. If you have comments or suggestions, please complete the survey by Monday, February 28, 2022. Your input is appreciated. Italy ISD https://forms.gle/9mxhRG7fkYb1SocM7
ATTENTION: Due to the expected winter storm this evening and the freezing, frigid temperatures expected through Friday, Italy ISD has made the decision to close on Thursday, February 3rd and Friday, February 4th. All extracurricular activities will also be cancelled or postponed. Please stay safe and warm during this weather event. ITALY ISD
Italy ISD School Closure Friday, January 14, 2022 Due to rapidly increasing COVID cases and staffing shortages (both current and projected), we are changing this coming Friday, January 14 to an in-person staff workday. The day will be a student holiday. We have additional minutes built into the school calendar and this time will not have to be made up for students. Currently scheduled extra-curricular activities (UIL games, etc.) will continue as scheduled unless you are contacted by your coach or sponsor. All staff should report to their campus from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. All staff should be working in their classrooms or offices alone and refrain from any group gatherings including meals together. All staff must be in-person or have an absence documented for the day. While the COVID Omicron variant is quickly spreading and we expect mass population coverage soon, we will continue to monitor active cases each week to mitigate the spread. We apologize to our families for the inconvenience but feel this decision is in the best interest of Italy ISD students and staff. We are feeling the impact of staff absences throughout the district. This will allow for an extra day apart along with the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, Jan. 17. Please contact your campus if you have any questions. Rachel Kistner Italy ISD Superintendent
