Italy Independent School District

Italy ISD will have a 2-hour delay tomorrow. The JH-HS will start class at 9:35 am and Stafford Elementary will begin at 9:45 am. No breakfast will be served. Bus riders can expect their buses to arrive 2 hrs 15 minutes to 2 hrs 30 minutes later than usual. All after school activities are cancelled. Roads around the district are good and we have kept heat on in our buildings all weekend. We will continue to monitor the news on the energy grid and notify you as soon as possible if anything changes for tomorrow. Dress warm, staff may wear jeans and we will see everyone tomorrow!!!! Italy ISD Spring Safety Week Italy ISD will host Spring Safety Week January 8-11, 2024. Throughout the week, administration will lead campuses through different safety drills. The safety of our students and staff is a top priority.

Game Update!

Italy ISD: Basketball Spectator Guidelines We have jumped into basketball season, which carries with it the same excitement and passion that Gladiators show when supporting all our teams. However, the Dome is a much different venue than our stadium. Voices carry, which is wonderful when what we hear is cheering. What is not good is when the voices that carry are cussing, jeering or personally criticizing the referees, coaches, or players. Your price of admission to the game gives you just that, admission. It does not give you permission to be anything but respectful in your words and actions. Failure to exercise control can result in ejection from a game and further suspension from future games. It is the Italy Gladiator expectation that we bring pride and good sportsmanship to every game and set the example for all students and other spectators that Italy Gladiators know how to properly support their teams. Attendance Matters The school day, from start to finish, is vital for the proper educational development and learning for every student. School Hours Italy JH/HS 7:35-4:05 Stafford Elementary 7:45-4:15 Tardies/Early Pick-Ups/Absences are counted throughout the school year, and when a student reaches a certain amount, attendance/learning recovery will be required. Promotion/Course Credit Students risk promotion to the next grade or loss of course credit, even if they are passed, if they have not been in school 90% of the days. ITALY HS & JHS PHOTO PASS Italy Yearbook staff is starting a new fundraiser campaign. We are selling different option photo passes of your students. Yearbook students spend many hours taking photos and editing them to make the perfect action and candid photographs. After much research and consideration we decided to sell our photos to help us raise funds for events, trips and new equipment. Attached is the different photo packages and order form to sign up. We will be collecting payments and forms during the normal school day and during games when I have staff available. Senior Slideshow Photos Please provide 3-5 pictures of you in your youth. This can be baby pictures, little league sports pictures, or any type of photo you want included in your senior slideshow. If you could send them digitally to Mr. Glover through the Google Classroom assignment or email them to jglover@italyisd.org. If you have no way to make your pictures digital we can scan them in as a last resort. All photos that need to be scanned should be delivered in person to Mr. Glover in Room 307 before the due date of October 12, 2023.
